Ravelenics

::Ravelry is holding an Olympic style Games for knitters in hommage to the 2012 Olympic Games::

::I am in two teams:: Team Knitabulls hosted by Diane::Team Icelandic Knitters hosted by Helene::

::I am taking part in the 'Toy Toss' for both but I am making individual toys::

::First I am making a Teddy Bear from Erika Knight's Simple Knits for Cherished Babies in Violet Green's sumptuous Cashmere in the chocolate colourway::

::Secondly, and simultaneously I am knitting on the Henrietta Doll from Helen Magnussen using a variety of Icelandic wools::

::It is great fun and I was lucky enough to attend the Games themselves this week when I went to Greenwich to watch the Dressage::

::Not only did I see the wonderful Carl Hester on Uthopia and Laura Bechtolsheimer on Mistral Hojris but also my heroine of the dressage world Anke Van Grunsven riding Salinero::

::The atmosphere was incredibly moving as all the fans cheered Great Britain and were gracious in their praise of other countries too and it all seemed to reinforce everything good and excellent about sport and ourselves which was a welcome reminder when there is so much to worry about in the world that there is good too::
