Oh, it must be quite difficult to knit with a wire! Even with hemp it is hard (I think!). Do you have any picture of wire knitting? Love to see it ;)
Yes scroll down a bit and you will see a beaded necklace I made. I knit an entire 'curtain' for my finals at art college. The wire is very fine and actually surprisingly easy to use.
