Picking up some dropped stitches




::Some months later time to pick up dropped stitches::

::little projects for February and a knit along with Dani of LittleBobbins and Zena of LittleYellowUke::I even won a prize::I chose the Hycinth sock pattern by Rachel Coopey from the Pretty Feet Two booklet::





 ::A lot of sewing::a choice of wonderful Japanese linens which I am making into a tote bag using quilting techniques::




 ::Socks have been knit too::some for myself and others for friends::Using the  Opal Hundertwasser Sparkle in the Kiss in the Rain and Blind Venus colour ways::




::there was the need/desire for a sheepish (in all senses) bottom up yoked jumper::Strokker by Ysolda Teague::using the Icelandic Létt-Lopi yarn:: 

 ::some old works have seen the light of day::a little progress made::Starling Wrap by Rowan using Rowan Fine Art in the Waxwing (303) colour way::
 ::a return to a much loved sock recipe but this time using a British wool::Flammegarn Socks by Nancy Bush with modifications as made by The Daily Purl using West Yorkshire Spinners  Signature 4ply birds colour way Wood Pigeon::
 ::a moment of frivolity and a nudge towards summer with a knit along hosted by TillyTrout::a much loved videocaster who would cheer up any drear day a knitter might be having::

 ::now there is another knit along hosted by Loop London knitting the Sous Sous jumper  by Norah Gaughaun in Old Maiden Aunt blue faced leicester double knit in the greige colour way::some sewing too using the Washi Tape pattern from Made-by-Rae and some Swiss fine lawn cotton::

 ::at one stage there was the need to knit oneself an owl merit badge::


 ::from the Rowan Magazine subscription came two balls of Kid Silk Amore and a free pattern for the Wickery Cowl by Dayana Krawchuk::


 ::another Dani inspired knit::falling in love with the ombre light turquoise gradient merino and nylon 4ply from Eden Yarns::knitted Knit your Love by Martene Behm::

 ::the march of the little things went on::a small cushion to be used to prop up 'real' books when reading::Lavender Sleep Pillow by Ruth Cross using Rowan Little Big Wool::the pattern is from Pretty Knits: 30 Designs from Loop in London by Susan Cropper::


::a  lesson learned::actually read a pattern::assuming you know how to knit and purl and yarn over leads to ripping out an entire project and reworking using the right instructions to get the fabric above::not this holey loose material below::



 ::then there was Evelyn Glamerous Bobble Hat by Louisa Harding from Knits from an English Rose::Akiko::glorious::aran::in a beautiful purple/teal:


 ::Esther, Ernie and Enid the Easter Chickens arrived in a timely fashion::using scraps of yarns::a free pattern by Janice Anderson::

 ::in the midst of the furious little knitting::a plea for premature baby hats for the local hospital::my pleasure::


 ::also made to raise much needed funds for Associated Country Women of the World were these bunny Easter egg pouches::

 ::spindle spinning on the wonderfully named 'fuzzlings' from Deb at Fondant Fibre:

 ::no excuse for cruelty to animals when you can knit with fake fur::irresistible fingerless mitts from the lovely Louisa Harding::Mabel Cheeky Mittens::from Knits from an English Rose as above::

::no goals or resolutions for 2015::just letting the creative juices flow in whatever direction takes my fancy::casting on everything::getting inspired by so many lovely creative people here in the ether and in reality::
